Kiama

I was lucky enough to spend a week down at Kiama over the summer holidays. Kiama is one of my favourite places to unwind and relax…anywhere near water makes me happy :-) The weather wasn’t so great, but we did manage to get one gorgeous day so I made the most of the afternoon and went off with my camera to see what I could find.

The Hunter Valley

Happy New Year! I hope you have all had a great start to 2012 and have some great things planned for the year. It was great to take a bit of a break over the summer, but it is good to be back blogging again.

I thought I would kick off 2012 with photos from the Hunter Valley. I was very pleasantly surprised to be taken to the Hunter Valley just after Christmas. I had never been before and enjoyed ever minute of it. What a beautiful part of the world. I bought some stunning wines and cheeses and would rate it as one of the nicest days I have had. What more could you ask for- great company, great wine, great food and great views :-)

Como

I used to live at Oyster Bay and always loved walking across Como Bridge, so I went back for a visit to take a few photos despite the threatening sky and the rain that came down not long after getting there. Hope you enjoy…

Gunnamatta Bay, Cronulla

Last night was the last meeting of the year of a local amateur photography group I have joined and looking at all the photos people have taken over the year made me realise how beautiful this city is and how many wonderful opportunities there are to capture life. I know I have said it before but photography is such a wonderful medium through which to experience the world. I find life behind the lens is always exceptionally vivid, fascinating and captivating. For me it is a wonderful way to remain positive, optimistic and hopeful. So simple but so powerful.

Camellia Gardens

One of my favourite places to go on a nice day is Camellia Garden’s. I love the meandering pathways that lead to such beautiful surprises and colour. I say alot on this blog that I am always amazed by nature’s colours- the flowers and plants in the Garden’s are no different. I hope you enjoy… 

It has been so long since I have spent the time to sit and watch ducks at play. I had so much fun watching them swim, fight and dive for food. It was really very funny and entertaining.

 

This last photo made me laugh because behind the camera I was excited this duck was putting on a show until I realised it was getting aggressive and there was only a few metres and a camera between me and this angry bird! lol I love photography.

Coastal Sunset

While I was down in Bermagui I spent every night looking out the window around dusk to see if it was worth going out to take some shots, but every night the cloud was too low and thick and no colour could break through, until the second last night. I had an awesome time taking these shots. I was on my own in this little spot, and to see the sky change in the course of an hour was so special. Can’t wait to get back there soon. Enjoy.
