My Creative Space

I spent the afternoon playing around with some Howlite beads I bought recently. I am not normally drawn to blue but I like the brown cracking look through it, it’s an interesting contrast. I made a bracelet and used magnetic clasps, which i haven’t used before. It certainly makes it easier to put on but I am not convinced it won’t fall off! It doesn’t seem strong enough but I will wait and see. I really want to make a necklace with the same beads and do a more tribal look that would be layered and taper in to fall in the middle of the chestbone, it shall be a work in progress. Check out other people’s creative spaces.

My Creative Space- Its great to be back

It has been well over a month since I last posted…where did the time go? My project this week was to bring together the things I have been doing in this past month and finally make a posting.

During this last month I was lucky enough to spend some time down in the South Coast, mostly Milton and Berry but also day trips to Huskisson, Kiama, Mollymook and Ulladulla. The South Coast is one of my all time favourite places to relax and unwind.

While I was away I had fun doing some water colour painting…

I stumbled across, quite accidently, my new gorgeous red boots! I have been on the lookout for red boots this Winter but no luck until I was lured into a shoe shop in Milton. The smell of leather inspired in me hope- hope that my long awaited boots might be in there. Sure enough they were sitting waiting for me, as was another stunning pair of black lace up boots. Is there nothing better than finding treasures when you aren’t even looking…

I have done small amounts of entertaining in my home and enjoyed cooking my new favourite dish- Chilly, Cumin, Vegetable and Slow Cooked Beef Curry.

My Creative Space

I have had these funky blue painted wooden beads for awhile and haven’t been able to decide what to do with them so they have been sitting staring at me for the past few months just waiting for the inspiration to hit. Well inspiration finally hit and I decided the wrapped wire look I did for my last necklace would provide a nice contrast against the bright blue beads, and two round agate beads would set the piece off by providing contrast and balance. I also enjoyed using chain and jump rings in a new way to break up what might have been a hectic necklace. For more creative spaces check out Kootoyoo

Loving it

I found these gorgeous yellow ceramic beads recently when I was bead shopping, and combined with small agate round beads I am loving the contrast. Yellow is such a fantastic colour and it is so great to see it in vogue this winter.
